Ian has been at home this week - for ages he has been saying that we need a cupboard under the stairs for storage. So yesterday he used Dietmar's angle grinder, and sliced a huge hole in the wall in the dining room. To our utter surprise, we discovered the original larder! The shelving is still there, as are the hooks for cups etc. There is even an old light fitting and light switch. The plaster in there is all sound and it has a good solid concrete floor.
The amount of dust that Ian generated was incredible - here is a picture of him before cleaning up:
Today Ian fitted the door frame, architraving, and cut the door to size. It's looking good!
Ace is off to the kennels tomorrow - on Saturday we are off to Grandma's 90th birthday!!! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone, especially those scrummy twins!!
