Going to the opticians, and other mundane stuff.

As the title suggests, I took the boys to the opticians yesterday - Thomas has never had a proper eye test, and given that he is always saying that he wants glasses, I was a bit nervous. However, he has perfect eyesight!!! He seemed quite proud of that.

Christopher, on the other hand, is another matter. He has a pair of specs that he doesn't wear, with a really, really weak prescription. His eyes are deteriorating, and he is beginning to have trouble with reading distance stuff. (Is that long or short sighted?) The optician has agreed to hold off prescribing until he's had a review in 6 months, but I have my concerns now. However, ultimately it's Christopher's choice - there's no point in him having glasses if he can't really see the benefit of wearing them. We shall see.

I took the boys to Chips before the eye tests - Thomas traded in his PSP at the beginning of the week for £75, bought a couple of DS games, and wanted to get a Nintendo Gamecube with the rest. Chips had one in for £24, including a memory stick, and he got himself a game as well - he seems happy with it.

The budgies are well - I can hear them cheeping in the other room. It's a lovely sound.

Thomas has his first level 7 swimming lesson this afternoon - I think he's a little bit nervous, but he's not letting on. Before that, we are going to have a lazy day...well, that's the intention! I am hoping that my Birkenstocks arrive from QVC today, then I can 'break them in' over the weekend.

Random photo of the day is one I took last September on the way to Ferndown.
